Soileos Zinc is the best choice for meeting your crop’s nutritional needs because it increases crop yields and is climate positive. Soileos Zinc empowers farmers to grow better crops while improving soil health and sequestering carbon.
Zinc is the most widespread micronutrient constraint limiting crop yields. Zinc deficiency occurs for several reasons: be it a lack of zinc content in the soil due to geography, limited availability due to high soil pH, or when crop removal exceeds zinc availability and fertilization over a long period.
Our research has shown that Soileos Zinc solves this problem.
Zinc plays an important role in:
Root formation and growth – indirectly impacting water and nutrient uptake
Protection from environmental stresses such as drought and temperature
Activating enzymes needed for protein synthesis and hormone regulation
Formation of chlorophyll and carbohydrates and conversion of starches into sugars
Nutrients delivered from Soileos to the crop lean on the symbiotic relationship of microbes in the soil. Studies with Soileos show that it improves soil health by increasing the microbial biomass in the soil by over 20%. The carbon in Soileos is fuel for your soil microbiome, and as the cellulose is broken down, microbes release or ingest nutrients.
Soileos Zinc can be used on many different crops. Trials have shown a great response with broadacre crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat and specialty crops such as lettuce, tomatoes, and berries. Ask our team for detailed trial results for your crops and region.
Soileos Zinc is an excellent source of zinc for most fertility plans. Application rates of Soileos Zinc can be based on an approximate 2x efficiency factor compared to zinc oxysulfate.
How to Use Soileos Zinc
Ease of Use
The Soileos pellet is durable and easy to handle. The pellet does not break apart during shipping or blending with other dry fertilizers, so very little dust is generated when Soileos is moved from bin to bin.
2,000 lbs. totes or bulk delivery.
Soileos Zinc is designed to blend well with other dry fertilizers and can be applied using existing field equipment such as air-seeders and strip-till rigs. Due to the low salt index, Soileos can be placed directly in the seed row.
When handled, the product has low dust and a high pellet durability index (PDI) of 95+, so it easily blends with standard dry fertilizer products without separation, settling, or breaking down.
